Below, we’ve provided an example of wording for a waiver that some SBL members have used in businesses requesting one.  Disclaimer: we do not know of any specific case in which a waiver like this has been tested in court.

LIABILITY WAIVER

To whom it may concern,

I, [    name    ], choose to go barefoot both as a lifestyle choice and for the medical and health benefits that this choice provides.  I assume full responsibility for my own safety.

Therefore, I agree that I will not hold _________________________________ responsible or liable for any injury I might sustain as a direct result of my choice to go barefoot in, on or around the above named premises, and I will not seek compensation for any related injuries, in the unlikely event that such an injury should occur.
