From: Denise Koch Subject: Firewalking Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2004 11:48:16 -0800 (PST) Greetings my friends, Being a lifelong barefooter to extreme I have to say I have enjoyed this list very much. I Live half my time in Philadelphia PA area and other half way up in the Pocono mountains. Its interesting to watch how people in the city versus those where i come from act about Barefooting. Although only hour and half to 2 hours apart they are worlds apart in some areas of dealing with barefooters. I am now enjoying the snow....nothing like running out into the snow barefooot!!!! The severe cold was really a hard thing to deal with as you cant really be barefoot in it. I still wear sandals though! In fact this winter I went to California, in the San Francisco area to Become a CERTIFIED FIREWALKING INSTRUCTOR. Studied under the world known Firewalking Scholar Peggy Dylan. In a class of about 15 people and another 15 staff members there was only 3 barefooters, me and 2 other men that really enjoyed being barefoot for most of the 2 weeks we were there. Would have thought people that loved walking on fire and coals like me would be more barefooters. Guess i was wrong. I know that most of the Barefooters I have come across delight in the idea of having many sensations to walk on and to challange themselves even at times to walk Barefoot Especially when told its not safe or not healthy or not something they should do. THat is how I started doing such daring things Barefoot because being a full insulin dependant Diabetic I found that it really upset me that so many people felt the right to tell me what i can and cant do with my Bare Feet. Thus this is how i ventured into the world of Firewalking. I am now a Certified Firewalking Instructor and hope to share my love and healing of the fire with others that are wanting to partake. Its an amazing thing to walk over those coals in your barefeet, to feel the power it brings into you!!! And if you would like some more information on this subject I would love to link you to another Yahoo email site enabling you to look for calander of events of Firewalks in your area. I am networked with other Firewalking instructors and we hope to put this together so that we can bring this amazing and powerful gift into the hands of those that want to explore! Please check out this email list and see if you'd like to join. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/firewalking2004/ Thanks For Your Support Denise Tomushunis
