From: Rich Pasco Subject: Going to class barefoot Date: Sat, 29 Jul 95 07:22:41 PDT From 1972-1976 I obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. During that four year period of study, I went barefoot every day, everywhere... Didn't bring shoes from home at all, as I bicycled five miles to the campus each day... went to all classes barefoot, and never had a problem, although I did develop a reputation. Actually I wore shoes exactly three days in the four years: (1) The day I hosted my supervisor from my employer back east, who was funding my education, (2) The day I stood before the entire E.E. department for my final oral examination (a suit-and-tie affair), and (3) The day it snowed on campus (rare in Calif.). Otherwise, no problems! - Rich
