Thank you for your email to the Department of Licensing regarding 
driving a car barefoot. I have been asked to respond.
No, Washington State does not have a law making it illegal to drive 
barefoot. If the slipped off footwear were to get wedged under the 
foot controls this could cause lose of vehicle control. You could 
receive a ticket for this.
