RE: Health Law Inquiry
Dear Ms. Wahl:
This letter is being written in response to your inquiry concerning footwear. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has two different rules and regulations pertaining to restaurants and grocery stores. These rules and regulations are as follows: "Rules and Regulations Governing the Sanitation of Food Service Establishments in the State of Colorado" and the "Rules and Regulations Governing Sanitation of Retail Food Establishments in the State of Colorado."
Neither of these rules and regulations have a requirement for footwear by people who patronize these types of establishments. A copy of these rules and regulations are enclosed for your information. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact this office at (303) 692-3620.
