Dear Mr. DiFonzo:
This is in response to your recent inquiry relative to whether Kentucky requires shoes or other footwear by patrons in public buildings or facilities. Kentucky does not have a legislative mandate for shoes or other footwear in facilities open to the public, such as restaurants, retail establishments, libraries, schools, etc. Any prohibition of bare feet would be at the discretion of the individual establishment or firm.
I hope this information is helpful to you.
Sincerely,
(signed)
Rice C. Leach, M.D.
