Dear Mr. Sands:

Mr. Hugh Atkins received your letter of September 25, 2008 regarding the regulation on the wear of shoes or other footewar in food service establishments. Tennessee does not have any law or rules on the regulation of footwear, shirts or other forms of clothing within food service establishments for the general public. We have noticed similar signs, however we are unable to identify the specific requirements. I would suggest contacting the the establishment ownership directly and have them cite the specific law or rule.
