INJURIES AND OTHER CHALLENGES

In response to the comment, “He said that people wear shoes for a reason, even before they were comfortable, and that reason is to protect their feet,” A.A. responded . . .

I’ve been going barefoot for 10 years, do you know how many injuries I had so far? Almost none, just a tiny cut that lasted one day…”>How many injuries on my bare hand? Many…So am I going to wear gloves?

The reason why people wear shoes is because they are taught without questioning by their parents and reinforced by the herd.

I’m pretty much sure that almost all the people here can witness the same, it’s not a group of masochists but rather of people who want to enjoy life.

Barefoot is pleasure, not a self punishment! So, one can’t tell me that I get hurt because it’s in spite of 10 years evidence…instead of wondering if we get injured we should ask why we apparently don’t…

And that’s because we are aware of our surrounding, don’t shod people wander around without paying attention to what they step into? What about if there’s an open manhole?

As you gain experience, you’re gonna gain an instinctive awareness, look at the barefoot runners, they have to react in fractions of a second. What you can’t see doesn’t hurt, and nails don’t stand up by themselves. And let’s be serious, how many nails do you normally  see around on the sidewalks?

Second, your soles are modeling a thick layer of rubbery but still sensitive skin that protects your feet from injuries, let’s take the example of the “seri boot” Indians.

If animals cut their feet every day and fall apart without life, the Earth would look like Mars and other lifeless planets 😉

We perfectly evolved to deal with all the alleged ‘hazards’ that scare people who actually  don’t have the fear to die, but instead the ‘fear to live’!
